If your score is between 0-10, you need to develop a step by step plan in order to learn how to let mistakes go and focus on the immediate moment. Athletes who struggle in this area often exhibit highly inconsistent performance with long periods of out of control emotions, shutting down, and or playing tentative.
They often wait for something good to happen to help them recover from mistakes. In competition you make a big deal out of small mistakes and are unable to manage the emotions that go with failing. Mistakes mean your performance checks out for long periods at a time.
In order to improve in this area, you will have to closely examine the steps you take to recover from mistakes and understand what previous sports or life experiences influence you ability to let go of your mistakes and re- engage in competition.
